ケイトー。。。、今日はあなたの“思い出の蓮”の話をするわけねぇ～？

いや。。。 僕の“思い出の蓮”の話はこれまでにたびたび記事に書いたから、今更取り上げても面白くないと思うのですよ。。。
じゃあ、誰の“思い出の蓮”を取り上げるわけぇ～。。。？
カルフォルニアのサンマテオ市に住んでいるアーイシャー・アーズミー（Ayesha Azmi）さんの“思い出の蓮”の話をしようと思うのですよ。。。
なんだか、アメリカ人らしくない名前じゃないのォ～？
実は、アーイシャーさんはインドのムンバイで生まれた帰化したアメリカ人ですよ。。。 まだ少女の頃に両親と共にアメリカに移住したのです。
。。。で、現在何をしているのォ～？
カリフォルニア大学バークレー校を卒業したあと サンマテオ市にあるオペラ・ソフトウェアでソフトウェア・スペシャリストとして働いているのです。

ウェブブラウザ「Opera」の開発元として知られており、またW3Cを通じたWeb標準化の推進も行っている。

Opera Softwareの最初の製品は1997年にリリースされたOpera 2.1 for Windows。
1998年からは携帯インターネットデバイス市場における多数のプラットフォームへのOpera移植というプロジェクトに成功、従来の目標を実現することとなる。

そういうことです。。。
赤いアンダーラインが引いてあるリファラをくりっくすると、どんな画面が出てくるのォ～？

あのねぇ～、ケイトー。。。 いつも、いつも、あなたがIPアドレススを調べるから、私も「IPひろば」で調べてみたのよ。。。 そしたら次のようなページが出たのよ。。。

ワシントン DC が出てきて、ホワイトハウスが出てきて、そしてバージニア州になっているのよ。。。 これってどういうわけなのォ～？
あのねぇ～、ソフトウェアは人間が作ったものなのですよ。。。 人間は完璧じゃないから、間違ったソフトを作る場合がよくある。。。 だから、よく調べてみる必要があるのですよ。。。 オペラ・ソフトウェアの住所は正しいのだから、その住所を頼りに調べれば、すぐに正しい地図をゲットすることができる。。。
なるほどォ～、何もかも信用してはだめなのねぇ～。。。
そういうことですよ。。。 常に、“ウラ”を取ってみる必要があるのです。。。
それで、アーイシャーさんの“思い出の蓮”というのは、見つかったわけなのォ～？

As usual, I've got to write about 30 articles in advance to cover 30 days so that I have enough time to enjoy my stay in Japan.
Nobody forces me to write an article everyday, but it has become my habit and I'm enjoying it to the hilt.

I book the time slot in the morning at JFS from Monday thru Saturday.
Not on Sunday, when I go straight to the central library and spend half a day.

Last fall, I bought several pieces of Japanese sweet called "Yatsu-hashi" for you.
It has a peculiar Japanese taste, I suppose.
This year, I'm thinking of a different kind of Japanese sweet---something like a 1000-year-old lotus-sweet.

“１０００年の蓮”とは、どういうものなのか？。。。と、アーイシャーさんは不思議に思ったのですよ。。。 だから、僕は約1400年から3000年前のものと推定された種子が、僕のふるさとの日本の行田市という町の 建設工事の現場に出来た掘削地の池で1973年に自然発芽した蓮のことだと返事を出したら、ビックリしたのですよ。。。

上の写真の蓮が、１０００年の眠りから覚めて発芽した古代蓮の子孫だと言ったら、アーイシャーさんは、「これと同じ蓮を私は子供の頃にムンバイの池で見た」と言うわけです。
つまり、ケイトーの記事を読んで、すっかり忘れていたムンバイの池の蓮のことがありありと思い出されたということなのねぇ～。。。？

そういうことですよ。。。 この上の写真がムンバイの池の蓮の花だそうです。。。
でも、写っているアーイシャーさんは、どう見ても子供とは思えないわァ～。。。
子供の頃の写真を貼り出したら、アーイシャーさんだと誰も判らないから、僕が現在のアーイシャーさんの写真を貼り付けたのですよ。。。
